- 31. Socio-Economic Scenarios for Climate Assessments
(http://www.climatescenarios.nl/)
- This wiki-site was set-up by the Climate changes Spatial Planning project IC11 'Socio-economic Scenarios for Climate Assessments'. On this site existing scenario data from many sources have been compiled and presented in a way that they are ready to use. Users are encouraged to share comments with the IC11 team or to contribute to this wiki. Th section Guidance Socio-Economic Scenarios shows why socio-economic scenarios are relevant in climate assessments and introduce some of the most important existing scenarios, specifically the Future of the Dutch Natural and Built Environment (Dutch: Welvaart en Leefomgeving, WLO). We indicate how to apply these scenarios in climate assessments, show how it has been done in a case study and lists resources for scenario development. The section Key numbers starts with a table that allows access to key numbers generated by the WLO and similar scenarios. These numbers refer to population, economic growth, labor productivity, the economic structure, employment, water security, energy consumprion, mobility and land use in the EU-15, the Netherlands, the Randstad, the Transition Zone and the Rural Zone. Four different scenarios are considered and the time horizons are 2020, 2040, 2070 and 2100.
